2017 Camino de Santiago statistics

Last year in 2017, a total of 301 036 pilgrims received their Compostela, the Certificate of Achievement of the Camino de Santiago, which is 30 000 more than during the last Holy Year in 2010.

Congratulations to the 300 000 pilgrims who accomplished the Camino de Santiago in 2017

2017 is the biggest year for the Camino de Santiago on record as the Pilgrim Office in Santiago de Compostela announced last week they gave out a total of 301 036 Compostelas, Certificates of Achievement of the Camino de Santiago.

Congratulations to all those brave pilgrims who walked, cycled or horse-rode over 100 km into the City of the Apostle Saint James!

Each Camino has its reason and is an achievement.

Whichever way you have done it (with luggage transfers, support van & booked luxury accommodation or with just your backpack and a map), you dedicated at least a week of your time plus preparation, you overcame your fears and each one of the challenges that were put in front of you, you went out of your comfort zone and interacted with other human beings. Even if you are a seasoned traveller and have walked the Camino in the past, each Camino is unique and worthy of respect and praise.

Well done!

Ultreya Tours wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Today, as we are getting ready to celebrate Christmas Eve with our families, I would like to take a moment to thank all our clients for your trust this year in letting us organise your holidays and to send you our best wishes for a very Merry Christmas and a wonderful New Year.

Ultreya Tours wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

This year was our best yet as we celebrated over 750 clientes on the Camino de Santiago from 45 different countries, only 5 out of 5 stars reviews on Google Plus, Facebook y TripAdvisor & our fifth “Best Tour Operator in Galicia” Award.  It has been a lot of hard work, but it is all worth it when we are able to greet you in person into Santiago or receive a kind note at the end of a trip! It is due to our wonderful team and service providers (hotels, guides, transporters, restaurants etc.) but mostly to your trust and we are really thankful for it.

So, again I want to wish you a Merry Christmas with your loved ones and that in this New Year you have a hundred reasons to laugh, a dream to live for (maybe to return to the Camino de Santiago), a thousand different moments of joy and no reason to suffer.

See you soon in Santiago de Compostela,
