Ultreya Tours was created to offer something that was still surprisingly difficult to find: thoughtfully designed Camino journeys organized here in Galicia, by people who know the Way as a lived place rather than a distant destination.

What we do

Camino journeys, thoughtfully brought together.

Ultreya Tours plans personal walking and cycling Caminos, private group journeys, coach tours and selected experiences across Spain and Portugal. We bring together the route, pacing, carefully selected accommodations, luggage transfers, transportation and other agreed services so that each journey feels coherent from beginning to end.

Ultreya Tours Camino de Santiago SL is a Spanish-registered travel agency and tour operator, registered in Galicia under number XG-569. Professional liability insurance and insolvency protection are provided through AXA, with the safeguards that apply when booking through a regulated Spanish travel company.

Our story

It began with a gap in the Way.

When Nellie Meunier first walked the Camino in 2012, the journey changed the direction of her life. Working in Camino travel over the following two years, she recognized a need for journeys shaped with greater local knowledge, flexibility and personal attention.

She imagined a Camino company based where the routes converge, combining firsthand experience with carefully selected accommodations, thoughtful pacing and the freedom to shape each journey around the traveler.

Ultreya Tours was founded in 2014, the same year its founder completed her journey to Santiago on foot and made Galicia her home.

Booked travelers receive private access to Your Camino Guide, a mobile-first companion that keeps their daily itinerary, accommodations, maps, preparation and during-trip assistance close at hand.

    As a women-led family business, we remain close to every journey and understand the particular questions that can accompany solo travel.

After years of planning Caminos for travelers from around the world, Ultreya Tours paused new reservations for two years while its founder devoted time to her growing family. We are now preparing journeys for the 2027 Holy Year with the same local knowledge, trusted relationships and commitment to personal planning that have always defined us.

Ultreya Tours is a women-led family business. This gives us a personal understanding of the questions and concerns women may have when considering a solo Camino, and those realities are part of how we plan and support each journey.

Some travelers want to walk the final 100 kilometers. Others want shorter stages, exceptional historic properties, a complete route, a private group journey or time to discover Galicia beyond the trail. Ultreya brings those choices together into one coherent journey, with the practical details handled quietly in the background.

Nellie Meunier

She has worked with Camino travelers since 2012 and has walked and cycled extensively across the French, Portuguese, Sanabrés, Northern and Finisterre routes. Her experience combines a traveler’s view of the Way with more than a decade of planning journeys from within Galicia.

Originally from France, she has lived in Santiago since completing her Camino on foot more than a decade ago.

A life rooted in Galicia.

Galicia is home. Quite literally. Nellie has built her family and daily life here, and she also serves as Honorary Consul of France in Santiago de Compostela.

That closeness shapes how Ultreya works. Every route connects accommodations, villages, landscapes and local partners in a place we know personally. When circumstances change, we are here.

What does Ultreya mean?

Onward.

Ultreya is an old greeting associated with pilgrims on the Camino, traditionally understood as an encouragement to continue onward. It carries the spirit of movement, courage and companionship that still belongs to the Way.

The three interlocking spirals of the Ultreya mark form a triskele, a symbol long connected with Galicia’s Celtic heritage. For us, it represents a journey held together: traveler, place and the many people who quietly make the Camino possible.
