Planning a Camino well means bringing many small arrangements together: the right accommodation in the right place, dependable luggage transfers, carefully timed transportation, clear journey information and someone to turn to when plans change. Each element has a cost, but its real value lies in how confidently the complete journey works.

For 2027, we have reviewed our prices. Some journeys now cost more than they did before our pause. We understand that price matters, and we believe it is better to explain the change openly than to leave it without context.

A new chapter, not simply a return

Over the past ten years, Ultreya Tours adjusted its rates only three times: in 2017, 2019 and 2022. The prices we used before reopening were set in 2022, before our two-year pause.

When we decided to reopen, we did not want to place an old price list onto a renewed business. Ultreya itself had evolved: a refreshed brand, a redesigned website, a clearer collection of journeys and a more complete way of supporting travelers before and during their Camino.

The relaunch therefore included a full review of every product and the real cost of delivering it well. Our 2027 prices are part of that wider renewal.

Reviewing the real cost of each journey

General inflation figures tell only part of the story. A Camino journey is built from a particular combination of hotels, guesthouses, luggage services, private transfers, guides, meals, technology and local support. The price has to reflect what those services actually cost now, rather than a single national percentage.

Official figures help put that change into perspective. Between August 2022 and August 2026, Spain’s overall Consumer Price Index rose by 12.4%. The categories closest to our work moved more sharply: food and non-alcoholic beverages rose by 18.5%, while restaurants and accommodation services rose by 21.6%. Transport prices rose by 10.8% over the same period.

Hotel-room data shows an even greater long-term change. INE’s Average Daily Rate—the average revenue a hotel receives for each occupied room—rose nationally from €109.28 in August 2019 to €166.90 in August 2026, an increase of 52.7%. Over the same comparison, the average rose by 47.8% for four-star hotels, 51.8% for three-star hotels and 60.1% for five-star hotels.

These are national market averages rather than the prices of Ultreya’s individual hotel partners, but they help explain why rebuilding a carefully selected accommodation programme at pre-pandemic prices is no longer realistic.

Employment costs have also changed. Spain’s statutory minimum monthly wage rose from €1,000 in 2022 to €1,221 in 2026, an increase of 22.1%.

These national figures are context rather than a pricing formula. The actual quotations we receive from individual hotels, transport providers and other partners vary by route, date and service. Some have moved by more than the national averages, while others have changed less.

This does not mean that every element rose by the same amount, nor that we applied one blanket percentage to every tour. We reviewed each journey individually, based on its route, duration, accommodation, transfers, inclusions and the support required to operate it properly.

We work with independent local businesses across the Camino. Paying realistic rates helps those partners maintain their standards and allows us to choose services for their reliability and care—not simply because they are the least expensive option.

A stronger service around the Camino

The new prices are not only about covering higher costs. During Ultreya’s pause and rebrand, we reconsidered how we could make every stage of the client experience clearer, calmer and more personal.

We have strengthened the journey around the itinerary itself. Confirmed travelers now receive Your Camino Guide, a private, mobile-friendly companion that brings together their itinerary, accommodation details, maps, preparation information and access to assistance. It is designed to make the right information easier to find before departure and while traveling, including when connectivity is limited.

We have also invested in clearer journey documentation, more detailed preparation and a more structured planning process. Our aim is to identify important preferences earlier, explain what is and is not included more clearly, and prepare each confirmed journey with fewer unanswered questions.

These improvements do not replace personal service. They support it.

What remains at the heart of the price

An Ultreya Tours journey is not a collection of reservations assembled anonymously. It is planned by a small team based in Galicia, with first-hand knowledge of the Camino and long-standing relationships along the routes we offer.

The price supports the work that happens before, during and around the visible itinerary:

  • selecting accommodation for its location, character and suitability for the journey;
  • coordinating luggage transfers and other confirmed transportation;
  • preparing personal documents and practical route information;
  • checking that the different parts of the itinerary fit together;
  • remaining available when a confirmed arrangement needs attention; and
  • working with trusted local partners who understand Camino travelers.

Not every journey includes the same services. The confirmed proposal always sets out exactly what is included, allowing travelers to understand and compare the complete arrangement rather than looking only at a headline price.

Thoughtful value, rather than the lowest possible price

We know that a Camino is a meaningful investment. Our response to rising costs is not to remove the details that make a journey dependable, nor to compromise quietly on the people and places behind it.

Instead, we are keeping our range clear. Different journey styles offer different levels of accommodation, support and flexibility, while our planning process helps each traveler find the option that suits their priorities and budget.

Our promise is simple: to price each journey honestly, explain it clearly and use that price to deliver the standard of planning and care we would want for our own Camino.
